Is Gambling Wrong?

Though the Bible doesn’t directly deal with gambling, we could derive several principles in Scripture. Betting breeds a kind of covetousness. Greed, coveting, and selfishness will be the foundation feelings that lure us to bet. I think Christians should be worried about betting if for no other motive than the effect it has on the brother that is poorer and the way it will change the gambler. State-sponsored gaming makes it more difficult for the gambler. Second, gaming destroys the work seeker. The work seeker is dealt with by two key biblical passages.

In Colossians 3:23-24, the Apostle Paul states,”Whatever you can do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, because you are aware you are going to get an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It’s the Lord Christ you’re serving.” And in two Thessalonians 3:7,10, he states,”For you yourselves know how you should follow our case. Third, gaming destroys families. Gambling is a significant source of family fail. Many of the societal costs connected with gaming come from its own mindset. As individuals become trapped up in a gaming frenzy, they start to neglect their own families.

Money spent on horse tracks or on lottery tickets is often not risk funds but is. In 1 Timothy 5:8, Paul states that is worse than an infidel. Gambling is a kind of greed. We see that authorities are still a ministry of God. The order should be provided by the government in society and promote public virtue. Government’s role is undercut by gaming 먹튀신 and subverts the fabric of culture during greed and selfishness encouraged by a vice. Gambling is bad policy; it’s bad policy; also it’s poor policy that is governmental. It invites corruption from the government and undermines the moral foundations of society. As Christians, I think we have to stand against the efforts of society.
